United Press Association—By lUectrio Telegraph—Copyngnt. LONDON, February 1. At the tallow sales, 1500 casks were offered and 1125 sold. The prices for all kinds were unchanged. The metal market is strong. Tin, £112 ; copner, £69|. . • February 2. The American visible wheat supply is at ! 51,648,000 bushels. ...... The wool sales closed steady, with prices about on a par with the opening rates. The extreme rates at the beginning and middle of the series were not fully maintained. Aβ compared with December prices, merinos were from 5 to 7£ per cent, higher and crossbreds 10 per cent, higher. The total catalogued to date amounts to 193,500 bales; there have been sold to home buyers 77,000 bales, to Continental 92,000 bale 3, and to American 5000 bales, chiefly crossbreds. There have been held over 13,000 bales. . The wheat market is slow, with 6d decline on the week. Tallow—ln stock 26,867 casks, imports for the month 7077, deliveries 6470. Supplies 18,904 tons,, deliveries 20,785, stocks 26,015, quantity advised from Australia 2350. Tin—£ll3±. Stocks 22,674, on spot 7299, afloat 2069.

Messrs Nelson Bros., Limited, Tomoana, received the following cablegram from London this afternoon:—"Frozen meat market —Today's quotations are; Best Canterbury 3Jd, best Dunediu and Southland 3id, best Napier and North Island 3Jd. Lamb (first quality) sd.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message, dated London February Ist: — "The wool sales closed firmly this day Since close of last sales the following descriptions have altered in price, as under: Merino greasy super,-medium and inferior, slipe, per lb higher; scoured super, washed and scoured medium and inferior, id to Id per lb higher; crossbred, fine greasy, medium washed and scoured, coarse greaey, washed and scoured, scoured lambs, elipe, per lb higher; fine washed and scoured, medium greasy, £d to Id per lb higher; other descriptions unchanged. The .total quantity sold during the past sales is 164,000 balee, of which 82,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, and 6000 bales'for America.. It is estimated that 20,000 halm have been held over lor future diepbsaL "Tallow—Market firm.

"Frozen Meat—Mutton market firm. Wellington and Southland mutton are worth respectively, and 3|d per lb. Lamb'mar-ket-quiet. Canterbury lamb is worth per lb. Beef market firmer. New Zealand beef, fores and hinds, are wortn respectively 2Jd and 3|d per lb. "Babbits—Market steady, at 9£d each c* store."

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received, under date Ist) inst., the following cable message from their London office:—

"Since our last telegram prices of mutton and mixed tallow are unchanged; any change in beef tallow is in favour of buyers."
