AUCKLAND CITY FINANCES.
(MLESS ASSOCIATIOS TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 5. The Mayor has given notice of motion for the next meeting of the City Council that considering the state of the Corporation finances, and the necessity for retrenchment, a special committee be appointed to investigate and report on the expenditure connected with all the departments under the control of the Council, with a view to showing where reductions can be made, so that expenditure shall not exceed income.
