PIGEON FLYING.

The Christchurch Homing Society flew off a race from Culverden on Saturday last. Twelve birds competed. The winner was Mr F. Kingsford's What's Wanted, which flew the distance of 52 miles 1202 yards (air line) in lh. 24 mm. The following were timed in :—Mr F. Kingsford's What's Wanted, 1098 yds per mm ; Mr E. Rodgers's Veloss, 1097.2 yds per mm ; Mr Clumber's Nance 1085, Mr Wilson's Venus 1076, Mr E. S. Cliff's Screw Gun 1069, Mr A. Stewart's Breman 1069, Mr Robertson's Princess 1028.
