Due Melbourne, 16th January; London, 19th February. Mails by the direct steamer lonic close at Wellington to-day at 1 p.m. Mails via Vancouver, per Aorangi, close it Wellington to-day, at 1 p.m. Mails for South Africa leave Melbourne on 11th January. Mails for Cromarty, Puysegur Point, and Tβ. Oneroa close at Invercargill on sth January, at 8 p.m. Mails for Norfolk Island, per Croydon Lass, close at Auckland on 7th January, at 11 a.m. • The., letter-box has been removed from the corner of Clyde and Fendalton road to the receiving office at Braco (Mr Wolfrey'e), about twd chains distant.
On 2nd pro*, a receiving office will be opened at- Braco (at Mr "Wolfrey's residence), and a post office opened at Hundaleo.
ALTERATION IN TIME OF CLOSING AND RECEIVING LOCAL MAILS.,
From 2nd January mails will be closed at 3.45 p.m., instead of 3 p.m., for Prebbleton, Lincoln, Springston, Blandville, Doyleston, Leeston and Southbridge. ■: ;-- ■'■'-•.:: Mails from all Post Offices on Ashburton, Whitecliffs, Springfield and Methven railway lines will reach Cnristchurch at 6.30 p.m., and the Southbridge line will arrive at 6.40 p.m. E.
