The insurances wera:—On, the stock and' furniture, £400 in the South British Office, and £400 in the Northern Queensland Office; on the building, £1000 in the North German Office. AUCKLAND, December 9. A fire broke out to-night in the block .of Mr Yates, seed-man, in the-, third storey,, occupied try Miss dire«_maker, whose department was completely gutted. Miss TuffnelTs stocky which was- complet-ly destroyed, was insured for £150 in the National Office. Mr H. AtkinS, draper, in the same block, had his stock partially damaged by water. His insurances .a_B-~-£9GO, New Zealand Office; £400, Royal Office. Mr Yates's shop was slightly damaged by water; his insurances are £_-00 in the Royal Office.
