THE Education Board of the District of North Canterbury hereby publicly notifies, in accordance with the' provisions of the School Committees Election Act, 1891, that the members of the Committee for the School District pf Flaxton having resigned, a pubbc meeting of the householders of the said District will be held on MONDAY, the 17th October, 1898, at half-past seven o'clock in the evening, at the main schoolroom, for the purpose of electing SEVEN PERSONS to form the Committee for such district. The Board further directs that the first meeting of the newly elected Committee be held in the schoolroom immediately after the election. The Board further calls upon the householders in the School District of Flaxton to send in to Mr W. Doidge, on or before MONDAY, the 10th October, 1898, the names of persons, being resident householders, nominated by them to serve, upon the Committee. Every such nomination must be signed by the proposer and by tbe candidate, and must be in the form set forth in the schedule to the Act, or to the effect thereof. In addition to such nominations, any householder present at the meeting may nominate any qualified candidate who consents by word of mouth, or by writing, to be so nominated. .;''■'•' H.
