(FROM OUR SPECIAL <*ORKEBPONI>ENT.) WELLINGTON. September 22, THE POLICE COMMISSION.
In answer to a question put by Mr Bollard, as to whether it was the intention of the Government" to give the House another opportunity of discussing the report of the Police Commission, the Premier said he did not think it was necessary to furtke-r discuss the question. The Commissioner of Police was now goiug tlirougb the report, and he would advise tlie Minister of Defence, who would of course report to the Cabinet. It would then be the duty ot the Minister to make a statement to the House. In respect to the financial phase of the question, he would have liked to have tne advice of tha Public Accounts Committee. This might be done without putting a resolution to the House. The Government would take the responsibility ot dealing with the matter.
