LONDON, September 21. The American visible supply of wheat 'a 15,376,000 bushels.
Tallow, mutton fine, 235; medium, 21s, Beef, fine, 22s 6d; medium, 20s.
At the wool sales there was keen competition, and prices have a hardening tendency.
September 22. At the wool sales the Kaputome clip realised 16_d.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from London office under date 20th inst.: —
"The wool sales opened with an indifferent selection; a large attendance of buyers, and animated competition. As compared with closing rates of last series, prices of merino wools in general and fine crossbred are higher by 5 per cent. For the bulk of coarse crossbred, any changes in prices is in favour of buyers. English and German buyers are the principal operators.'"
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following London cable message, dated September 21st:— -
"Tallow—There is a fair demand for beef tallow, but other descriptions are slow of sola"
