(raiSS ASS9OU-IOK tiliwum.) WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21. LEGISLATIVE" COUNCIL. Ths Council met at 2.30 p.m. THE LATE SIR GEORGE GREY. Before the order of the day was mentioned, Mr W. C. WALKi.it said it was only fitting that the Council shoud p*- • what respect it could to the memory of Sir George Grey, and place upon record its appreciation" «f his services. Briefly eulogising the c arcor of the deceased statesman, both in connection with the colonies and the Empire, he moved "That the Legislative Council of Now Zealand desires to place on record iU high appreciation of the distinguished servicefj rendered to this colony by the late Right Hon. Sir George Grey, and respectfully tenders to his relatives ar* assurance of its "sympathy with them in their bereavement. The motion was seconded by Mr McCULLOUGH, and after a few sympathetic words from Mr TOMOAXA, the resolution was agreed to in silence, and the Council immediately adjourned.
