A SMART PASSAGE.
WELLINGTON, September 1. The Union Company's new steamer Mapourika ran to Pioton yesterday in three hours forty-three minutes, averaging a trifle over thirteen knots an hour. This was a fine performance, and comes- rather as a surprise, as the vessel only did twelve knots on the official trial.
