The Council met at 2.30 p.m. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Mr Taiaroa was granted extended leave of absence to the 9th insfc. THE JURIES BILL. The committal of the Juries Act Amendment Bill was postponed till next day, in order that the opinions or the Supreme Court Judges migut be more widely circulated in the meantime. SECOND READINGS. The Government Advances to Setters Act Amendment, and Inebriates Institution Bills were read a second time. The latter Bill, which Air W. C. WALKER stated had been made a Government measure, met with general approval, thougli tear was expressed that it would lead to much larger expenditure than was anticipated. xhe Council rose at 4.10 p.m.
