HALKETT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The Christchurch Presbytery met at Halkett Church on Tuesday for the induction of the Rev. W. Finlayson into the charge of Halkelt, Kimberley and Hornby. The Rev. J. R. Simpson preached from John xii., 32, and the Rev. A. M. Wright inducted the Rev. W. Finlayson. The Rev. R. S. Allan addressed the newly-inducted minister and the Rev. W. Grant the people on their respective duties. In the evening a tea meeting took.pl >cc. in the Orange Hall, Courtenay. Excellent addresses were given by the members of the Presbytery present, and by the Rev. H. G. Hawkins, Vicar of Courtenay. The choir led the assemblage in the singing of sacred music. Mrs Q. T.
