HOCKEY.

The following have been chosen to repre* sent South Canterbury against North Canterbury in the hockey match to be played, on the Ashburton Domain this afternoon :— Wm. Smith. F. Potter, C; Andrews, D. Fitzgerald, D. Stock, McKennie, H. MiltK champ, A. Houston, M. Fitzgerald, W. Houston and C. Clarke; emergencies, F. Watt, G. Clark, F. Gale and Simpson. The following team, which has been chosen to represent the northern part of the province, leaves by to-day's express :—Goal, Blakely j backs, Roxburgh and Fatnuda; half-baoks, Suckling, Pavitt and Williams; forwards, Stubberfield, Rankin (2), Langdon and Matthews. Mr Good has been chosen to act as referee.
