The Wanganui County Council has accepted the tender of Mr J. A. Leedon, Stratford, for the erection of the Wangehu bridge for £2691. Four other tenders were received. INVERCARGILL, July 22. At the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court to-day Mary Blackmore was fined £20, or in default three months' imprisonment, for keeping a brothel. James Watson, who destroyed one side of his face by shooting, five weeks ago, has been committed to the Seacliff Asylum. Over a million rabbits have been exported from the Bluff this season.
