LODGE MEETINGS.
At the ordinary meeting of Court Star of Canterbury, A.0.F., U.K. Bi.o. J. G. Airmifrage' presided. A letter was received from a brother in Melbourne, thanking the Court ibr donation forwarded to him from the benevolent fund to assist him in his distress. i.'.CR. Bro. Beattie read the annual balance s..eet of the United Friendly Societies' Benevolent Fund, and gave an outline oi the business transacted at the annual meeting. The CR. installed Bro. G. Mummery in the chu_r, and the newly elected O.R. then installed his subordinate officers. It was decided to present P.C.R. Bro. Armitage with the usual emblems :of office, and pl__ce his name on *_c respect board. Two candidates were proposed for membership. The receipts of the evening were £200 10s. At the half-yearly meeting of the Anchor Lodge, U.A.0.D., at. Woolston, the A.D., Bito. G. Duggan, presided. The auditors' report and the balance-sheet showed a steady increase in members and in funds. The following officers were elected:—A.D., Bro. H. Eastwick; V.A., Bro. W. H. Boundy, jun.; A.D.B.'s, -ros. A. Rennie and J. Jfapps; V.A.B.'s, Bros. Harper and Radcliffe; 1.G., Bro. W. Saggers; 0.G., Bro. Boundy; F.S., Bito. Rhodes; M.S., Bro. Jas. Rennie; treasurer, Bro. E. Round; Lodge doctors, Drs. Hunt and Moorhuuse; auditor, Bro. W. T. Thomas; Juvenile Committee, Bros. Rhodes, Cooksley, Moses, J. P. Silby, Howell, Bill, Duggan, and Eastwick; h:UI-keeper, Bro. T. W. P. Round; Benevolent Association delegates, Bros. O'ooksiey and Rhodes. The officers were installed by D.P. Bro. F. Newton, assisted by P.jj.P. Bro. T. Bottomley. A Past Arch diploma was ordered Do be prepared for presentation to P.A. Bro. E. Cooksley. ' The meeting unanimously affirmed the principle of a graduated scale of contributions.
Bro. J. Paterson presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Addington Lodge. One new member was initiated. It was decided to challenge the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge to a card match. The Mistletoe Lodge .of Druids met on Monday, Bro. H. McGregor presiding. Past-Arch. Bro. R. Dyer was the recipient of a handsome gold pendant, suitably inscribed, in recognition of his past sarvices to the Lodge. The presentation was made by District President Bro. Newton. A progressive euchre match was then played. The fortnightly meeting of Washington Lodge, 1.0.0. F., A.C., was held on the 18th inst. The report of the delegates appointed to attend the preliminary meeting of the Friendly Societies' Dispensary Convention was received, also communications from the Grand Lodge. Arrangements were made to pay a visit to the Prebbleton Lodge with the Grand Lodge representatives. A meeting of the Trafalgar Lodge U. A.O.D. was held in the Orange Hall, Kaiapoi, on Tuesday evening, A.D. Bro. Mellish presiding. The Lodge unanimously affirmed the principle of a graduated scale of contributions. Two new members were initiated and two candidates proposed for membership.
