THE POLLARD OPERA COMPANY.
Judging from the large hoMpe which assembled last night to greet the Pollard Oy:era Company on their reappearance and the applause which greeted the piece throughout, " Djin Djin " has lost non« of its attractiveness. It went with much spirit and onthuaianm from first to lust. Miss Maud Beatty made quite a hit by tho symbolisation of the unity between England and America in singing •' The Star Spangled Banner " and •« Rally round the flag." Tho display of the Stars and Stripes was the signal for loud and continued cheering. Miss Beatty'e voice baa greatly improved eince her last visit, and she was heard to great advantage in the waltz duet with Miss Mitchell in tho first act. Miss Beatty both looked and acted the part excellently. Miss Mitchell sang with far more trueness and success than on former occasions, and was excellent in the part of the Princess. Miss May Be»tty was exceedingly piquante in the part of the maid to the Princess, and, with Mr Percy, kept the fan going fast and furious. Mr Quealy, as the elderly daughter of the Daimio, was exceedingly funny, especially in hie eccentric dancing. All the other characters, especially that of Djin Djin by Mr Fitts, who sang throughout with much artistic power and success, were well filled. The electric light was used throughout with much ettect, especially in the festivities scene. Altogether one can prophecy a very successful run for *' Djin Djin. It will be repeated this evening.
