MARKET REPORTS.

At the Tinwald yards yesterday there was a fair attendance of farmers and others, and a full yard of stock. The sale was a dragging one from start to finish. The fat sheep pens were full of an average class of sheep, but the Christchurch buyers were not operating, and a drop in fat sheep resulted. The store sheep were very backward in condition. Anything young and of fair quality was sought after at usual rates. The beef was only second class, and store cattle were wanting feed, having to be turned out unsold. The entry was about 7500 sheep and 60 head of cattle. The prices are as follows:—Fat crossbred ewes 5s 10d, 6s Bd, 7s 9d, Bs, 8s 6d, 8s 9d, 10s 4d, 10s sd, 10s 6d ; fat crossbred ewes and wethers 12s 6d, 14s 3d, 13s 3d, 14s 3d, 153 7d, 21s; freezers 14s lOd ; butchers' lambs 7s 6d, 7s 9d, 7s. 8s 9d, 9s 9d; stores—crossbred wethers 7s 7d, 8s 9d ; lambs 2s 9d, 3s 9d, 3s 6d, 5s 2d, 4s 9d, 5s lOd, 6s lOd ; crossbred ewes in lamb 5s lld, 8s 9d, 9s, 10s 4d ; backward 2s 6d to 4s 9d ; merino ewes 2s 6d; merino wethers 4s 4d; cattle—fat heifers £3 15s, £2 15s, £3 7s 6d, £5 ; steers £3 10s, £5 3s, £3 8s 6d, £4 ss, £4 18s 6d ; cows £4, £3155, £4 7s 6d; store cattle not quotable.
