The death is announced in this issue of Mrs H. Meadowcroft, wife of the much respected stationmaster at Kaiapoi, with whom there will be general sympathy in his bereavement. The deceased lady had been in failing health, having been a great sufferer from asthma. Mrs Meadowcroft took a great interest in church work, and was of a very kind and sympathetic disposition.
Mr William Keeley, eldest son of Mr Giles Keeley, died at his father's residence, Wakanui homestead, near Ashburton, on Tuesday. Deceased, who was a farmer, was well-known and much respected. For several years he occupied land in the Springston district, but latterly he had been residing near his father's homestead.
