THE HAWKE'S BAY MEETING. .[By Telegraph.] (from our own correspondent.) NAPIER, June 14. This morning at Hastings a large number of newly arrived horses were on the ground, and there were quite a number of track watchers. Gooseman commenced operations by sending Brennan and Rioter a smart once round, both going and finishing well. Cojur de Lion was restricted to slow work. Kangimokai and Te Hapuka galloped a mile and a quarter, the latter appearing to have a slight advantage. Bush Rose and Stockville finished together at the end of a round. Hussar and xMartyrdom did a like task, both going well. Pistol Grip (Woolley) and Tengate (Sweenay) jumped six hurdles. The latter came clown at the third fence, but he went on and negotiated the remainder. Opou did slow work. Progress (Donovan) and Ruby (U. O'Neill) were schooled over the hurdles, both going in a taking style. Rhino and Struck Oil galloped once round, the former having a lot the best of it. Katoomba and The Dude were sent a similar distance, and finished together. Pansy and Nansen ran seven furlongs, which they completed together strongly. Hobart, Hakamatere, Euroclydon's half brother, and Greenstone galloped seven furlongs, the last-named finishing in front. Alpine (Walls) jumped the hurdles, going very satisfactorily; she afterwards jumped the Steeplechase country well. Morag (Maher) and fcjultador (Morrigan) went twice round over the country in good style.
