AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

(PHK3S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, June 13. At a meeting of the A.R.G. Committee, a decision was come to regarding the institution of the new race—the Century Stakes, of 1000 soys—which it is proposed to place on the Club's autumn programme of 1899. The committee decided to institute the race, the only alteration made in the conditions, as originally drafted, being the increasing of the distance from a mile and a quarter to a mib and a half. A "saving" clause, by which the club are empowered to either reduce the stake or withdraw it altogether should the number of nominations received be less than 150, has, it may be stated, been retained.
