The whole of this land is a rich loam, on warm bottom, and the survey is being made in such a way that every farm will have permanent water from mountain streams. The whole of the land is naturally drained, and the farms front the main road Tapanui to Croekston; two miles from School and ■ix from Railway. Crown land bush in the immediate vicinity of the land to be offered. The land is all in lea, and has been down some ten years. The bulk of it was only once cropped, when it yielded heavily both wheat and oats, and as high as 29s per acre was paid for the right to take one grain crop from it, when wheat was selling as low as 2s 4d per bushel. On the opposite side of the road this year 60 bushels of wheat was threshed, and the whole paddock is still covered with corn stacks that amply testify to the yields.
