PIGEON FLYING.

The Christchurch Pigeon Flying Club flew off a race from Oatnaru on Saturday in connection with the Christchurch Poultry Club's Show. Twenty-four birds competed, representing thirteen owners. The winner, Mr F. Butterfield's Hazard, flew the distance in four hours forty-three minutes. The following ia the result :—Mr Butterfield's Hazard 866 yards per minute, Mr Ayling's Clcarsight 858 minute, Mr W. Howison's Rightaway 856 yards per minute, Master Ellis Earnshaw's Scot's Grey 855 yards per minute, Mr Hardies Dewdrop 852 yards per minute, Mr Kingsford's Jujah 842 yards per minute, Mr Robertson's Quickshot 826 yards per minute, Mr Cooper's Nautilus 775 yards per minute, Mr Saunders's Friar 771 yards per minute, Mr Cliffs Crusader 767 yards per minute.
