passengers by the same train.

Mr H. D. Bell whs a passenger from Wei* ..4ington by the Penguin yesterday.
Mr Buttle came by the same steamer. Mr Duthie was a passenger by the Penguin. Mr Ballin was a passenger for Wellington fey the Koton. Ghana on Saturday. "Mr Walter Leslie, of the 'Hansard" staff, was in C'hristchurch yesterday on bis way to Dunedin.
Mr A. A. Coirigan, of Wellington, was a Ashburton by the express on Saturday, and leaves for Dtneuin this morning. Mr P. Waymouth went south a* far *s by tho express on Saturady. and returned in the evening. Mr Mitchison was a passenger from Ash* bur) on by the express on Saturday evening. Mr U. H/ill came to town yesterday. Mr J A. Gilruth was a passenger by Saturday's e> press from the south. Mr V. W. Marohant came up by tlie same train.
Mr L. Matbias arrived from the south on f»tur«lay. Hie Worship the Mayor has returned from Timaru.
