THE HON. W. ROLLESTON IN REPLY.
TO THE EDITOR OK THE FRESS. Sir,—ln reply to what I understand to be Mr John M'Keuzie's challenge to mc last night at Riccarton, I have only to say that Ido not withdraw what I publicly stated with regard to the Bushy Park transaction, and that I have nothing to apologise for, either to him or his sons..
The Supreme Court is open to Mr M'Kenzie for what I have stated and still adhere to, and the fear of being branded (whatever that may mean), from the North Cape to Stewart Island by Mr M'Kenzie will not deter mo from expressing my opinion as a public man on matters aflectiug the public interests. New Zealand, I hope and believe, is still a free country, and I trust that it will bo long before impotent threats will gag either its Press or its public men.—Yoms, &c,
Wμ. ROLtESTON. Christchuroh, June 10th, 18y8.
