Reuters Agency is responsible fox the statement that all the territorial questions at issue between England and France, in connection with the Niger difficulty, have been adjusted. AN IMPORTANT DECISION. London, June 9. At the Pontypridd (Wales) Police Court a merohant was charged with selling American hams containing '8 per cent, boracic acid. An expert gave evidence that this percentage w.as innocuous. The Bench in dismissing the case, said that it regretted thai, similar expert evidence was not available in connection with the recent prosecutions by the Glamorgan County Council of sellers of Australian hatter, which it was alleged had been adulterated with boraoio aoid. [A good deal of fuss is Btill being made over the use of boraoio acid in the preservation of dairy produce. The matter is assuming a somewhat acute stage in various parts of the country, and some of the county councils aro taking stringent action. Mr Hooley attributes his failure to blackmailing syndicates and newspapers, who absorbed the profits of his ventures. He alleges that he paid one newspaper £40,000 for a single article, and £10,000 law court costs. The claims against the estate amount to half a million.
