During recreation time a number of the men-'o-waramen have indulged in football on the reclaimed ground near the dock. Messrs Field and Ferrier ar<* expecting the arrival of the Jessie Niccol from Stewart's Island. The Rotomahana arrived from Wailington yesterday morning and sailed for Wellington last night. The Herald arrived from Timaiu yesterday morning and sailed for Greymouth m the afternoon. The Rosamond sailed for Greymouth direct yesterday. The Wanaka arrived from the north yesterday. She is in command of Captain Smith, late of the Wakatipu, The Elingamite arrived from Dunedin yesterday morning, and leaves for Sydney via Auckland to-day. The Matatua arrived from London via Timaru yesterday afternoon. The "Otago "Daily Times" hoars that Captain Bull, of the Huddart-Parker Company's steamship Westralia, has been appointed marine superintendent to the Company, while the command of the We9tralia has been given to Captain Thorpe, late of the Eliugamite.
