(press association telegrams.) AUCKLAND, June 7. Mr John Bollard, M.H.R. for Eden, ad> dressed his constituents at the JUevonporft Hall. His speech throughout was in condemnation of the general administration of the Government. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. The Woodlocks have been jointly remanded. WELLINGTON, June 7. The Railway Department has decided to run four through trains weekly between Wellington and New Plymouth. The days on which they will run has not yet been decided, but the altered service is expected to come into operation in August. [At present through trains are run between New Plymouth and Wellington twice weekly—on Tuesdays and Fridays.) From a return supplied to the Benevolent Trustees, it appears that 1661 persons were assisted during the year at tv cost of £7795. Of these 315 were men, 376 women, and the rest children. The sum of £2742 was given in money.
INVERCARGILL, June 7. While crossing Foveaux Straits the Mono* wai passed through large shoals of whalesf which were disporting themselves in all directions.
