The reported capture of the Shenandoah by the Spaniards proves incorrect. A subsequent report states that the steamer Paris sighted the Shenandoah in tho mid-Atlantic.
Five hundred irregulars, half being Americans, have been landed at Guanabacoa, between Havana and Matanzas, to join the Cuban rebels.
Lieutenant No wan, of the American navy, also lauded and arranged for the co-operation of the American forces and the rebels, under General
Garcia
It is now stated that it is clear that neither America nor Spain is prepared for war.
Decisive operations are likely to be delayed.
