Five weather again favoured the Napier Park Kacing Club, and as it was the halfholiday the attendance was greater than on the first day. The racing was excellent. A great finish in the City Stakes resulted in a dead heat between Woodstock and Tirant d'Eau, and the Hurdle race was won after a desperate struggle by Toriki. Dottrell only won by a head in her race with Gold Cup. C. Mitchell had his collarbone bioken and sustained slight concussion when Barbarossa fell in the Trial Hurdles. From a flying start Dasher went to the front and was not caught till entering the straight, when Tigress and Victoria Cro?s got almost on terms with him. Coming again, he drew away until Scotia, who had started badly, passed Victoria Cross and Tigress half way down the straight and got within a length of him, but Dasher won comfortably. Half a mile from home Te Ngaehe had run himself out, and Woodstock had half a length lead of Primula at the home turn, where Golden Plover was third, Tirant d'Eau next the rails, and Martyrdom well with the others. Once in the straight Tirant d'Eau got into second place, and drawing up to Woodstock, got up in the
