Sir Julius Pauncefofce, British Ambassador, states that the Senate has entirely misrepresented Great Britain's attitude in regard to the Hawaiian Islands. AUSTRIAN AFFAIRS. Vienna, March 22. Tlie German Nationalist members of the Austrian Reichsrath opposed the election of Herr Fuchs as President of the Chamber, shouting " vaga-' bond " and " gaol bird." They criticised the appeal made by Count Franz Hohenstein, the Premier, in support of Monarchy and Parliament. THE MURDER OF A MILLIONAIRE. Capetown, March 22. At the trial of VVertheim for the murder of Mr Josl a witness named Strange deposed that the murderer wrote threatening letters to Joel demanding money for the removal of President Kruger. NAVAL ACTIVITY IN 3APAN. Tokio, March 22. Japan is largely increasing her force of marines, and purchasing transport vessels. THE CHINESE LOAN. Berlin, March 22. The Chinese loan has been largely over subscribed in Germany. ALLEGED EXTENSIVE FRAUDS. St. Petersburg, March 22. Reports from Odessa announce the arrest of 120 persons on a charge of being implicated in extensive frauds in connection with the supply o,f coal to the Russian warships in the Euxine. The fleet admiral has been dismissed from the service in the same connection. A NATIVE RISINGBerlin, March 22. News of the rising in Uheheland, in German Africa is confirmed. Sir George Newnes, of Tit Bits and other journals, is equipping an Antarctic expedition.
