A clothing manufacturer named Weenan, together with a number of his employees, has been charged with committing extensive frauds on the customs by means of the drawback system. • PRESENTATIONS TO A CRICKETER. Adelaide, March 23. Hill, the cricketer, was presented with a magnificent gold watch by his admirers on attaining his majority. The Cricket Association presented him with a silver shield. Later news from the Nevr Hebrides shows that Dr. Lamb's mission, buildings escaped serious damage in the recent hurricane. The engines have been recovered from the wrecked launch Ethel, but the hull is smashed up. Br. Lamb sails for the group on Friday. Received March 24th, 1.10 a.m. MELBOURNE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. Melbourne, March 28. The Supreme Court has sanctioned the formation of an Assets Company to take over the unliquidated assets of the Federal Bank and three other Melbourne financial institutions.
