The final was fought out on Saturday afternoon, on the Christchurch green, when there was a large number of spectators. The result was a win for the former by four points. The President of the Club (Mr J. C. Maddison) requested Mr Henry Thomson, as one of the oldest members of the Club, to make the presentation of the medals to the winner. Mr H. Thomson congratulated the winning rink on securing such handsome medals, and pinned them on. The medals are of gold suspended from a light-blue ribbon and bear the following inscription:—"Presented by Mr John Ross to the Christchurch Bowling Club, March, 1898." The health of the losing rink was also given, which waß responded to by Mr L. B. Wood.
