PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mr A. R. Lyons, Superintendent of Properties tor the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company was a passenger for Dunedin by yesterday's express.

Mr and Mrs A. M. Hayward, of Wellington, who have been staying a few days in town, proceeded tjp Dunedin in the same train.

Mr J. C. Wason, M.H.R., returned home yesterday.

Mrs R. M. Macdonald was a passenger to Dunedin by yesterday's express. Miss H. G. Fodor was also a passenger to Dunedin by the same train.

Mr F. Huddleston was a passenger to Fairlie, en route for the Hermitage, by the express yesterday. .

Mr and Mrs H. G. Sheppard, of Christchurch, were passengers to Wellington by the Penguin last night, en route for the Wairarapa. Mr Etienne Lelievre arrived in Christchurch from Akaroa yesterday. Mr G. F. Bullen, of The Elms, Kaikoura, returned from a short stay at Dunedin, by last night's express. Captain and Mrs Temple arrived from Geraldine by the express. Mr John Studholme was a passenger to Chrietchurch by the same train. Messrs J. H. Lowe and C. Hudson, of the Railway Department, returned from the south by express and left for Wellington. Mr T. Rotherham was a passenger by express as far as Cbristchurch. Mr and Mrs Hallenstein, of Dunedin, arrived in town yesterday. Mr H. M. Cook, of Sydney, arrived from the north yesterday. ' Mr and Mrs C. H. Fisher, of Wellington, also arrived in Chriatchurch yesterday. Mr H. C. Wilson, of Napier, was a passenger to Chriatchurch in the Penguin yesterday. The Rev. G. H. Mann, and Mrs Mann, arrived from Wellington by the s.s. Te Anau yesterday, and went on to Aehbnrton by the express. Lieut.-Colonel Gordon returned last night from his- visit to the Rifle Association's meeting at Oamaru. Professor Scott and the Rev. Mr Gow were passengers from Wellington by the Penguin.

The Rev.,Mr Olphert, Mrs Olphert and family, left for Wellington last night. . The Rev. H. Bull was a passenger for Auckland by the Penguin.
