(PRESS ASSOCIATION TBI—GRAMS.) AUCKLAND, March 14. Over fifty Austrians, en route for the Northern goldfields, arrived from Sydney by the Waihora.
A man named Flannagan, a resident of Paeroa, nearly poisoned himself by eating match heads, owing, it is said, to family troubles. He is out oi danger. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 14. The Bell Dairy Factory on Hen wood road, owned by Mr J. Crockett, was destroyed by fie at half-past one on Sunday morning. The insurances on the building were £200, aud on the plant £400 in tho Norwich Union. The loss is estimated at 50 per cent. more. It is supposed that the oause was a spark from the boiler fire.
NAPIER, "YJarch 14. Thomas Peddie, the licensee of the Clarendon Hotel, was fined £2 for exposing liquor for sale after hours, the license to be endorsed. John P. Smith, licensee of the Empire Hotel, was fined £1 for a similar offence, his license also to be endorsed. WELLINGTON, March 14. The executive will not considor tho cases of the murderers Philpott and Clements till the Governor returns at the end of the week. The reward for the discovery of the horse sUbber at Christchurch has been increased to £500. The annual session of the New Zealand branch oi the Medical Association begins to-morrow. The examination of military cadets tc undergo a course of training in England resulted in the eleotion of Pilkington, Auok* land, and Hall, West Coast. Among the Klondike passengers by the Miowera were Mr Butland, the well-known footballer, and Captain Robertson, late harbourmaster at Onehunga, who represents an Auckland* syndicate. In the Divorce Court Mrs Rosa Wilson obtained a decree nisi on the ground that her husband, James Willoughby Wilson, was already married when he married the plaintiff. Wilson has disappeared, but it was stated in Court that he lias since been married again in Auckland. In the cose Dowsett v Dowsetfc, the husband obtained a decree on the ground that the wife two years after her marriage, which took place in 1886, became a Mormon and went away with her father to Utah, where she married again.
