MIDLAND v SYDENHAM.

The contest between these teams was continued at Hagley Park on Saturday, when the Midlanders were batting all the afternoon, and they increased their score from 165 for four wickets to 321, the last wicket falling just before the call of time. Smith, who had gone in first and made 69 on the first day, remained at the creases the whole afternoon, being the last man disposed of. He gave one hard chance at the wickets after making his century, but otherwise his play was faultless. The Sydenham fielding was fair, and McMurray bowled very steadily, but there appeared but little sting in the attack. Scores :— Midland Eleven. First Innings. ' A. E.
