AUCKLAND.

The members of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club chosen to represent Auckland at the Championship Meeting are in hard training and some of them are puting in solid work. G. Smith appears to be improving every day and is sprinting really well. Oliphant has been training more for tbe 250 and 440 yards, while be bas also been doing some good work over tbe sticks. Martin has been putting in long slow work at Mount Albert, and commences on the domain with fast work this week. George is training at EUerslie, and, I hear, is moving welL McKeen is doing long slow work at Tukurau, and comes to town shortly to commence his preparation. H. G. Thomson is in good form, and has done several fine runs over the quarter.

It is very doubtful whether F. H. Creamer will go to the meeting. A. W. Bell, the distance runner, is unable to visit Wanganui. It is thought he would have gone very near winning the Three Mile Championship, and his absence will prove a loss to bhe Auckland team.

Advices received here to-day state bhst B. Hr Richards, the hurdler, and O. O. R. Smith arrive here from Sydqey by the mail steamer Mararoa. They will finish their training here, and go on with tbe Auckland team to the Championship Meeting at Wanganui.
