The Board met on January 6tn. Present —Messrs Lambie (Chairman), Holmes, Richards, Morland and Stringfellow. The Clerk's report was considered. His action in accepting C. Pluck's tender for grass seed was approved. The Clerk was instructed to sue for outstanding ratee at once. Mr Holmes, gave notice of motion for the next meeting that a general rate of Jd in the £ on all rateable properties in the district be struck for the year ending March 51st, 1898. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Connty Council that,all the trees at the south end of the plantation 6n the Great South road are. destroyed by sheep. Correspondence wae received from the Council, re sand drift. The members drove down and inspected the same.
