CHRISTMAS SERVICES.

HOLY TRINITY, LYTTELTON. Christmas Day was celebrated at this church with night service* attended W large congregations. There were two celebrations of Holy Communion, one at 7 a.m., and the second, which was fully choral, at 11 a.m. There were llOcommumcants, moet of whom received at the early service. Matins were said at 10.30. At the choral evensong a number of carols were sung. The »nw«un was Simper's "Sing, sing, O Heavens." The altar, font, pulpit, and ohotr-atalle were beautifully decorated with white flowers. The Vicar, the Rev. C. Coates, preached » the choral celebration a short sermon from the text •' Glory to God in the highest: od earth peace, good-will towards men."
