Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations :■— TUESDAY, DECEMBER 28. For Timaru, per Corinna, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m train. For Dunedin and InvercargilJ, per Rotokino, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Rotomahana, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, it p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 30. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies (via Wellington), per Tarawera, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, ,3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31. For Chatham Islands, per Kaliu, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. For Invercargill and intermediate offices, also Australian colonies (via Bluff), Ceylon, India, China, &c, and specially addressed correspondence via Suez, for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (due London February 15th), per express to connect with Waikare, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; mail van, 11 a.m. Saturday. Mails for Australia, &c, per Monowai, close at Bluff on December 28th. Mails for South Africa close at Melbourne on January 6th. Mails for Noumea and Fiji leave Sydney on sth January.
