OCCUPATION OF KASSALA. United Press Association—By Klectric Telegraph Copyright. Received December 24th, 9.50 a.m. Cairo, December 23. Nine hundred Egyptian troops have entered Eassala, in Eastern Soudan. Received December 24th, 9.20 p.m. December 24. The garrison at Berber has been strengthened, aud a detachment of troops has been scut up the river Atbara, to prevent the dervishes' movement northwards. Recoived December 26th, 5.10 p.m. The dervishes at Shendy and Metemmeh are advancing on Berber. December 25. The native levies at Kassala have oapturod the dervish post on the Atbara. Tho latter suffered heavy losses.
