MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
Mr R. C. Bishop was the only candidate nominated for the New Brighton Mayoralty, and has been declared re-elected.—Mr J. M. Douglass has been re-elected Mayor of Woolston for the third year in succession, onopposed. He was also acting Mayor for some time previous to his first election. ilhis is a record in Mayoral matters.—Mr T.N. Horsley has been elected Mayor of Linwood, hia being the only nomination.—At noon yesterday Messrs W. Doubleday and J. L. Wilson were nominated for the office of Mayor of Kaiapoi, the election taking place on 24th inst.—Mr A. Chalmers, the present Mayor, was the only person nominated for the Lyttelton Mayoralty, nnd was declared duly elected.—Mr Robert Nicol wm re-elected Mayor of Waimate.

NELSON, November 17. Mr Francis Trask has been elected Mayor too the eighth time in succession unopposed.
