ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
On making enquiry yesterday as to the injuries of the little boy Best, who was thrown from a cart at Cam bridge, Kaiapoi, we learn his skull is fractured in three places, and his collar bone is broken, while the contusions on his face and body are very severe. He has fully regained consciousness, and is expected to quite recover his injurie*. (FBTCSS'* ASSOCIATION XB-EGRAM.) WELLINGTON, November 17."" The steamer Queen of the South was taking wool from Flaxbourne Btation yesterday, and just before sheleft the station s boat, when returning to shore, was seen to be struck by a heavy sea and turned completely over. Her occupants, with the exception of the steersman, an elderly man, were thrown into the water. Tho helmsman, however, got jammed iv the boat, in which position he remained until his comrades had righted her. When last seen from the steamer the old man had been carried ashore, and Mr and Mrs Clifford were making efforts for his resuscitation.
