OUR CITY MEMBERS.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB PRESS,
Sir,—Replying to a " Disgusted Railway Hand," let mc say that as far as Mr Lewis is concerned his comments are wide of the mask. In the course of a lengthy conversation with mc Mr Lewis told mc that before leaving Wellington he had supplied Mr W. C. Buchanan with copious notes on a variety of subjects, such as public holiday, platelayers' half holiday, the percentage of shunters, the question of calling, superannuation, and others that I forget. Mr Lewis, I should think, got a pair before leaving, and Mr Buchanan is such a determined old warrior that I am sure he made out a good case for us. When Hansard comes down we will see; meanwhile lam satisfied.—Yours, &c, Another Railway Servant. November 16th.
