CARRIAGES.

Messrs Moor and Co. have a fine exhibit of vehicles in the permanent buildings. These comprise dog carts, polo carts, Whitechapels, pagnels, daisy carts and gigs. For the special prizes they send two Ciaremont gigs and a dog cart. ' All the vehicles in the exhibit are prettily upholstered and well finished. Boon and Stevens have dog carts, gigs, Whitechapcls, and American road carte. For the special prize they have entered a rustic dog cart of new design, a gig, and a drapers' parcel delivering van. Brabner and Sons send Victoria, Ralli rustic and dog carts, roadster gigs, four-wheeled dogcart, buggies, station waggon, and three Bradley carts built in American style. All the exhibit is entered to compete for the medal. Steele Bros, have pony carts, Whitechapels, dog-cart, roadster and other gigs and butcher's cart. Messrs Bryant and Co. exhibit dog-carts, lady's pony cart, gigs, Farmer Pagnel cart, and a racing sulky with pneumatic tyres and ball bearings. Mr £. Jones has dog-carts, Whitechapels, Daisy roadster gigs, fee. Messrs J. and D. Petrie send Cambridge, rustic and Whitechapel carts, and a light spring dray. Under this heading in the catalogue is a very useful invention, the McChesney Doggett horse holder. A chain fits on to a hook in the wheel and locks it. There is also a reel over which the reins pass, and they are caught in a hook and spring below, also on the wheeL When the horse moves forward the chain locks and the reins are pulled tight up as if by hand. The invention is a most ingenious one and should prove most useful ia to* preventaoa of runaways, dee.
