ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A man named Thompson was admitted into the Hospital on Monday night, suffering from tome severe scalp wounds caused by a fall from a cart. He is progressing favourably.
Just before two o'clock yesterday afternoon two horses attached to the* Christchurch Tramway Company's Sydenham and Port Hills drag bolted from Colombo street South. They travelled at a good pace along Colombo street to the Bank of New Zealand corner of Cathedral square, where they managed to avoid two trams just ready to start. They took the corner without mishap, escaped collision with the carriers on the stand, and made for the stable right of way into Worcester street. In taking the sharp turn into the right of way one of the fore wheels jambed in the gutter and one of the horses came down. It waa not much hurt, and the only other damage done was the splitting of a spoke of a wheel. The driver was off the box at the time the horses starred, and he stated that they were frightened by a piece of bark which was blown on to the back of one of them. In the driver's absence a boy was left standing by the heads of the animals, but was evidently unable to pi*e vent them breaking away. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TKTiRaiUM.) DUNEDIN, November 9.
