Saturday, November 6. (Before R. Btctham, Esq., S.M.)
Drunkenness.—For thisofFence Margaret Wickham was fined 10s. or in default, fortyeight hours' imprisonment. Maintenance.—John Thomas Durham, on warrant from Auckland, was charged with deserting his five children. From tho evidence it appeared that he had mado some effort to keep them, and being willing to take them back to Auckland, he was remanded till Monday to enable him to arrange with the Charitable Aid Board. Mr Lane appeared for the Board, and stated that the children's passages would be paid.
i Monday, November 8. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., S.M.) [ Alleged Larcbnv.—Thos. Peterson, accused of stealing a copper boiler, was remanded to Amberley to-morrow. Drunkenness.—Two first offenders were fined 59, with the usual alternative. Margaret Thomas was convicted and discharged, and handed over t,o the Samaritan Home.
Alleged Assault.—John Crook and Amelia Crook were charged with having assaulted Constable McGill- Mr Donnelly appeared for the accused, who were remanded until Saturday, bail being allowed in two sureties of £100 each.
