Captain Edwin telegraphed yesterday as follows : —" Wind between north-east and north and west at all places northward of Lyttelton and Hokitika, and between north and west and south and west at all other places. Barometer fall at all places north of Lyttelton and Hokitika, fall but rise after twelve hours elsewhere. Sea heavy on all western coast, tides generally high. Yesterday Messrs Kaye and Carter cleared the schooner Annie Brown for Kaipara, in ballast.

The Government schooner Tutanekai arrives today from Timaru, and will go into dock to-morrow for cleaning and painting. The schooner Falcon arrived yesterday from Havelock with a cargo of timber, and will load for Wellington on account Messrs Kaye and Carter.
