JUBILEE KINEMATOGRAPH.
Although the places of amusement vre so numerous in Chrisfcchurch this week, there was a very fair attendance at the Kinematograph exhibition in the Oddfellows' Hall last evening. The audience received all the pictures, many of which in the first part have not been shown hero before, with enthusiasm, and some of them, notably the " l>ull Fight" and a " Horse-Jumping Competition " were enoored. Other pictures equally go >d were " A Storm Scene," " The call of the Fire Brigade," though all of them were of such even merit as not to admit of a comparison. The second part consisted of the now famous production of the Diamond Jubilee procession, and was very well received, the audience rising on two occasions and singing the National Anthem. The exhibition concluded with a splendid reproduction of " Faus* up to date," aa played in the Comedy Theatre, Paris, illustrating " The- Vanishing Lady,' " Mephistopheles transformation," "The Caged Donkey," and "Headless Hermit." The orchestra played music appropriate to the pictures. The performance also included some vocal items. Mr P. Hockley sang "The Carnival" and "Bid Mc to Love." Alias Glover gave a recitation and sang a duet with Mr W. Mackenzie, who also gave a humorous recitation and sans; " Simon the Cellarer" and "Father O'Flynn. The exhibition will be repeated this evening.
