A CHANGE OF FORTUNE.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Adelaide, October 20. A man named Fitzgerald, employed as a gardener, received a cablegram announcing his succession to the Barony of De-Eos by the death of a cousin. The Barony is the oldest in England, though not a very rich one. Fitzgerald is a near relative of the Duke of Leinsfcer and cousin to the Marquis of Dufferin. When he came of age he inherited £85,000, which he quickly spent in horse racing and other effective ways. As captain of the Royal Irish Rifles he served in Bechuanalaud under Sir Charles Warren, and he came to the colonies two years ago destitute.
