Beerbohm's wheat" circular states that importing countries will require 55,000,000 quarters of wheat, of which America, Europe aud Asia are likely to supply 44,000,000, -while the balance will have to come from the Argentine, Australasia and minor exporters. Doubt is expressed whether the quantity required will be forthcoming.
The Statist says the Argentine's exports were under 4,000,000 quarters before August. Other authorities estimates the world's deficit at from 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 quarters.
Paris, August 28. M. Meline, the Premier, replying to a query, said the French wheat crop was only 80,000,000 quarters.
